This policy explains what personal data Java Rentals collects when you visit this website or rent a car from us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it.

1. Who we are
Java Rentals is a car rental company with a desk at Tirana International Airport (Rinas) and a city desk in Tirana, Albania. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What we collect
When you make a booking. The booking form on this website asks for your name, email address, phone number, the car you want, your pick-up and drop-off dates and times, any extras you choose (such as a child seat or an additional driver) and any notes you write for us.
When you contact us. The contact form asks for your name and email address and the message you send. If you contact us by WhatsApp, email or phone, we receive whatever you choose to tell us.
When you pick the car up. Before handing over the keys we need to see your driving licence and your passport or identity card. We record the licence and identity details required by the rental agreement and by Albanian law, and we record the condition of the car, including photographs, at pick-up and return.
When you visit the website. Like most websites we record technical information, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the times you visit them. See section 6 on cookies.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the rental. We need your name, contact details and booking details to confirm your reservation, prepare the rental agreement, hand over the car and handle its return.
- To answer you. If you send us a message, we use your contact details to reply.
- To meet legal duties. Rental agreements, identity checks, invoices and tax records have to be kept and produced when the authorities require them.
- To keep the car and our customers safe. Condition reports and photographs are our record of the state of the car at pick-up and return, and support insurance claims.
- To improve the website. Aggregated statistics about how the site is used tell us which pages work and which do not.
- To advertise. We use Google Ads and measure how many people who click our ads go on to make a booking.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
- Our email and hosting providers. Booking confirmations and contact-form messages are delivered through Resend (email delivery) and our website is hosted on servers in the EU. These providers process data on our instructions.
- Google. We use Google Analytics (property G-TJBDFMNGX1) to see how the website is used, and Google Ads (account AW-430788370) to advertise and to measure whether our ads lead to bookings. Google may set cookies and receive your IP address for this (see section 6).
- Insurance, police and public authorities. In the event of an accident, damage, theft or a traffic offence, we may pass the rental agreement and related details to our insurer, to the police or to another authority where the law requires it.
- Payment and banking. If you pay by card, the payment is processed by the payment or banking provider; if you pay by bank transfer, your bank and ours see the transaction.
5. How long we keep it
- Bookings that do not go ahead. Booking enquiries and contact-form messages are kept while we deal with them and for a short period afterwards, then deleted.
- Completed rentals. The rental agreement, identity verification, invoice and condition records are kept for as long as Albanian accounting, tax and contract rules require, and for as long as we may need them to defend a claim.
- Photographs and condition reports. Kept with the rental record, for the same period as the rental agreement.
- Website statistics. Analytics data is retained on the periods configured in Google Analytics.
6. Cookies and measurement
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses them for two purposes:
- Keeping the site working. To remember the car and dates you selected while you move between pages, so you do not have to enter them again.
- Measurement and advertising. Google Analytics sets cookies (for example _ga) that let us count visits and see how people use the site. Google Ads sets cookies that recognise a visit which followed one of our ads, so we know the ad worked.
When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you allow or reject analytics and ads cookies; you can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics measurement across all websites using Google's browser add-on. Blocking cookies does not stop you booking; you can always reach us by phone, email or WhatsApp.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete data we no longer have a reason to keep;
- limit how we use your data, or object to a particular use;
- send your data to you or to another provider in a usable format;
- withdraw consent you have given, for example to receive marketing, at any time.
Write to contact@javacar.rentals and we will answer. Some requests cannot be met in full: we cannot delete records we are legally required to keep, for example invoices and rental agreements, or information needed to deal with an unresolved insurance claim. If you are not satisfied with our answer you have the right to complain to the Albanian data protection authority, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IKMD).
8. Security
The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Access to booking data is limited to the staff who need it to prepare and hand over your rental, and access to the system is password-protected. We keep the amount of data we collect to what is needed for a rental and take reasonable measures to protect it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top. The version published here is the one that applies.

Java Rentals is a local team renting cars at Tirana International Airport (Rinas) and from our city desk in the centre of Tirana. We are open 24/7, there is no deposit, and you pay at pickup: collect your keys at our Rinas Airport office or our Tirana office, and you are on your way. Pick-up and drop-off at either office are free. Travelling further? We deliver across Albania, from Durrës and Shkodër to Vlorë and Sarandë; delivery fees apply.
